Agile Software Development

Agile software development is a major methodology research area for me. Of particular importance is adapting it to the large, complex programs that I work with on a regular basis. These are just some generic links.

Project Management

Although project management is not always thought of highly in the agile community, it is a necessity, in my opinion. Learning how to take the best of the project management world and apply it to more adaptive situations is of great interest. These are just some generic links.

Presidential Quotes

John Adams, 2nd President of the United States

Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of the facts and evidence.

— John Adams, December 1770

Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States

Be sure you put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.

— Abraham Lincoln

Morehead City, NC

Customized driving directions to Morehead City, NC. This includes my preferences for going straight through New York City, going on the east side of the Capital Beltway, taking I-295 South near Richmond, and exiting I-95 South at NC 125. It takes me through the towns of Scotland Neck,NC and Williamston, NC. I have found this route faster than those the automatic trip makers generate because the mileage is shorter and there is virtually no traffic.

I have found that this information can be downloaded into Google Earth, but it does not retain all of the directions after the customized destinations. For example, it will stop the directions at my custom destination in Washinton, DC. To get the full set of directions requires pulling in each segment and showing them all in Google Earth. The online version, therefore, is a bit more versatile until they can fix the bug.
